ISA, through its subsidiary in Brazil ISA CTEEP, was awarded the three energy transmission projects it bid for, in the public bidding made by the National Energy Agency of Brazil (ANEEL) on Thursday, December 19.

During the operation, projects totaling nearly 2,470 km of transmission lines and substations with a transformation capacity of more than 7,700 MVA were bid for a total investment of approximately USD 1 billion.

The three projects awarded to ISA CTEEP represent 379 km of transmission lines and 4,291 MVA and will be built in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, Mato Groso do Sul, and Minas Gerais. These projects were given established maximum construction periods between 42 and 60 months, and a 30-year concession period.

These projects will be directly financed by ISA CTEEP with own resources as well as lending operations in Brazil.

“Brazil is a country that brings a very significant growth potential for all of ISA Group’s businesses, especially in energy transmission. Therefore, one of our main interests is to keep studying opportunities that bring us profitability and strategic complementarity, always ensuring that we maintain a balanced portfolio, but above all, generating sustainable value. We hope that the country will continue to ensure conditions to provide stability and to promote private investment so that we can keep meeting infrastructure needs, thus leveraging the great development potential of this country”, said Bernardo Vargas Gibsone, ISA’s CEO.

About ISA CTEEP

Through ISA CTEEP, the ISA Group transports about 25% of the energy generated in the country, 60% of the energy consumed in the Southeast Region, and almost 100% of the energy consumed in the State of São Paulo.

The projects awarded will add 65,900 MVA of transformers and 126 substations to the 18,600 km of transmission lines that the company owns today.
