Compartir en redes

ISA, through ISA INTERCOLOMBIA, will plant and maintain 1.800.000 trees between 2020 and 2022, as a contribution to achieving the objectives outlined in the Development Plan, environmental chapter.

ISA Group’s commitment to the National Government, through the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, seeks to define a specific action that will contribute to the National Development Plan by planting and maintaining these trees that will generate better environmental conditions in areas of ecological interest.

This initiative follows the ISA2030 strategy, as it contributes proactively and significantly to the mitigation of environmental impacts from execution of projects as well as to the adaptation to climate change and the protection and conservation of ecosystems and their biodiversity, inspiring others, and always prioritizing the benefits for the humanity.

“ISA protects and improves ecosystem services by achieving better living conditions for rural communities in the areas of influence of our projects. ISA understands that the industry will only be feasible if we understand and undertake the commitments that are part of this responsibility, which goes beyond compliance with the law and the efficient provision of our services,” Bernardo Vargas Gibsone, ISA Group’s CEO, said.

ISA’s commitments to climate change mitigation are long-term, differentiating commitments. One of these is the Conexión Jaguar program, developed by ISA and its technical partner South Pole and Panthera, through which four (4) conservation and restoration projects are being carried out in Colombia. The program covers 503,000 hectares of forest for an emission reduction potential of nearly 3.000 tons of CO2. Also, several types of support are offered to families living in these regions of the country.

The ISA Group reaffirms its determination to operate within a sustainable development framework, promoting major world initiatives.
