{"id":122078,"date":"2025-11-04T20:07:09","date_gmt":"2025-11-05T01:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/isa.co\/?post_type=press&#038;p=122078"},"modified":"2025-11-07T12:09:25","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T17:09:25","slug":"isa-increases-investment-in-projects-by-38-so-far-this-year","status":"publish","type":"press","link":"https:\/\/isa.co\/en\/press\/isa-increases-investment-in-projects-by-38-so-far-this-year\/","title":{"rendered":"ISA increases investment in projects by 38% so far this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Investments amounted to COP 4.4 trillion, on an upward trend compared to 2024.<\/li>\n<li>During this period, a project connecting La Guajira to the National Interconnected System for the first time came into operation, advancing the path toward energy transition and contributing to the progress and development of the department.<\/li>\n<li>The company&#8217;s EBITDA and net profit, accumulated through September, stood at COP 6.6 trillion and COP 1.9 trillion, respectively.<\/li>\n<li>ISA received two awards for its commitment to sustainability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the end of September 2025, ISA reported solid operating income, with accumulated investments of COP 4.4 trillion, representing an increase of 38% compared to the end of September 2024. In the third quarter alone, COP 1.7 trillion was invested, thereby increasing the pace of investment and honoring the commitments made in the ISA2040 Strategy. Over the next five years, the company has projected investments of COP 31.1 trillion, which will add approximately 5,153 km of line and 296 km of roads to the current infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>During this period, the start-up of Cuestecitas\u2013Copey\u2013Fundaci\u00f3n, a key project for the energy transition, stood out, with an investment of USD 147 million. This is the first 500 kV connection in La Guajira, which will enable wind and solar energy from the region to be transported to the main consumption centers. The project includes 270 km of transmission lines and the expansion of three substations, strengthening the country&#8217;s northern electrical grid.<\/p>\n<p>Another milestone during this period was the commissioning of two solar farm connections, which added reliability and capacity to the energy supply generated in the Colombian Caribbean region. In the Atlantic region, we connected the Guayepo III solar farm to the Sabanalarga substation, with an installed capacity of 200 MW, which will generate enough energy to supply around 766,000 people. In Valledupar, we connected three solar farms that will add up to 59.7 MW of clean, renewable energy. These two projects have a reference investment of COP 55 billion.<\/p>\n<p>In the financial field, between January and September, cumulative EBITDA closed at COP 6.6 trillion and net profit at COP 1.9 trillion, representing a reduction of 13% and 17%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2024. This was mainly due to extraordinary and non-recurring events related to the adjustment in the provision for major maintenance in Peru and the Periodic Tariff Review (RTP) in Brazil, which had a positive effect on income in 2024. Likewise, Air-e&#8217;s portfolio provision in Colombia and the update of the payment methodology for the financial component of the Basic Network of the Existing System (RBSE) in Brazil affected results in 2025. Excluding these events, cumulative EBITDA through September will grow by 13% and income will increase by 7% compared to the same period last year. These results are supported by the start-up of investment projects that generate new revenues, the positive effect of contractual escalators\u2014such as inflation and the Producer Price Index\u2014and higher income in construction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>At ISA, we reaffirm our operational and financial strength, and we move forward with discipline on the path to becoming a leader in the region&#8217;s energy transition, as well as consolidating our leadership in Latin America. The investments we make today are designed to ensure sustainability, competitiveness, and long-term growth,<\/em><em>\u201d<\/em> said Jorge Andr\u00e9s Carrillo, CEO of ISA.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, on the environmental front, honoring the commitment made at COP16, the first of two nurseries for frailejones and native species was set up in the Chingaza Moorland, with capacity for 4,500 seedlings. In addition, Conexi\u00f3n Jaguar won first place among 100 projects in the Decarbonization category of the CIER Innovation Awards 2025, which recognizes initiatives that transform the energy sector through innovation, socio-environmental impact, scalability, and value for society.
